Methodology

How data flows

01Engine exportRaw trade log from the operator's backtest or execution engine
02Import, unmodifiedTrade-level data only - headline numbers are never accepted
03RecomputeEquity, drawdown, monthly P&L and ratios derived from the trades
04PublishEvery trade visible, fingerprinted, behind one free sign-in

What PortWatch computes

Equity curves, drawdown, monthly P&L, win rate, profit factor and per-trade returns are derived from the raw trade log on every import. Where an engine export includes its own risk figures (Sharpe, Sortino, CAGR), those are shown as reported and labeled as such.

What it doesn't

PortWatch does not audit brokerage accounts and does not simulate fills. Results reflect the engine's own commission and slippage settings. Backtested results are labeled backtested. The S&P 500 benchmark uses weekly closes, price return, excluding dividends.

Platform

Everything a track record should be

Complete by construction

Statistics are recomputed from the raw trade log on every import. An operator can't edit a number or quietly drop a losing trade - the trade numbering and cumulative P&L would show the gap.

A read-only data room

Members explore equity curves, drawdown history, monthly P&L and the full trade log - filterable by date range, down to the individual fill, behind one free sign-in.

Get your algorithms tracked

Operators request a listing from the dashboard. Trade history connects to the same pipeline as the demo portfolio - recomputed statistics, a full trade log, and live updates as trades close.

FAQ

Fair questions

Where does the data come from?

Operators export their raw trade history - a TradingView strategy export or a plain CSV of closed trades - and it is imported unmodified. No headline numbers are accepted: only the trade log itself.

Can an operator edit the results?

No. Every displayed statistic - equity curve, drawdown, monthly P&L, win rate, profit factor - is recomputed by PortWatch from the full trade log on import. Removing a losing trade would leave visible gaps in the trade numbering and cumulative P&L.

Is PortWatch independent of the operators it lists?

Listings are cooperative - operators work directly with PortWatch to publish, and PortWatch is not an arms-length auditor. That is exactly why the platform recomputes all statistics from raw trade data instead of accepting an operator's own numbers: the pipeline, methodology, and dataset fingerprint are the same for every listing.

How do I get my own strategy listed?

Create a free account and send a listing request from your dashboard. Your raw trade history is connected to the same pipeline the demo portfolio runs through - recomputed statistics, full trade log, live updates by webhook.
